Professional Supervision

A Space for Reflection, Growth, Accountability, and Support

Working in helping professions can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be challenging, emotionally demanding, and at times isolating. Professional supervision provides a dedicated space to reflect on your work, explore challenges, celebrate successes, and support your ongoing professional and personal development.

My aim is to provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment where you can openly discuss your work, gain new perspectives, and strengthen your confidence and effectiveness in your role.

Supervision is not about being judged or evaluated. Rather, it is an opportunity to reflect, learn, and grow in a way that supports both your wellbeing and your professional practice.

My Approach

My supervision style is warm, relational, and strengths-based. I seek to create a space where supervisees feel respected, supported, and challenged when appropriate.

Drawing from my counselling background, I integrate reflective practice, Person-Centred principles, and a strengths-based perspective to help individuals explore their work, identify areas for growth, and recognise the strengths and resources they already possess.

Whether you are navigating complex client work, workplace challenges, ethical considerations, professional development goals, or simply needing space to reflect, supervision can provide valuable support and guidance.

My Experience

As a registered counsellor and member of NZCCA, I understand the important role that quality supervision plays in supporting ethical, effective, and sustainable practice.

I have worked in the mental health sector for over 14 years across a variety of roles and settings. My experience includes working as a community support worker in residential homes supporting people experiencing mental health challenges, as well as working in clinical and counselling roles.

Throughout my career, I have worked with children, teenagers, and adults in both school and agency settings. I have also worked within counselling education, including roles as a lecturer and process group facilitator. These experiences have given me a passion for supporting counselling students as they develop their professional identity, confidence, and counselling skills.

My diverse professional background has provided me with an understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges that helping professionals face across different environments, career stages, and areas of practice.

My goal as a supervisor is to provide a supportive and reflective space where you feel safe to explore your work, celebrate successes, navigate challenges, and continue developing your professional identity and practice.
